As mentioned elsewhere, I was VERY lucky to catch those last revenue runs over Cumbres -
especially the westbound on Wednesday, August 28. While visiting some railfan friends in
Denver, I called the dispatcher one Tuesday afternoon on a whim, to see if there were trains
planned that week for Thursday & Friday - a common practice the last couple of years - and
was was told, "Tomorrow. You better get your ass down there cause it's the last one. [click]."
