Guys, in a way I'm sorry to bring this up because I know I have this information SOMEwhere, but right now I'm sitting in my office and figure I'd better act quickly while the question's on my mind.
I'm looking at Dr. Chione's marvelous photo of 473 taken a couple of miles west and south of Chama, taken on the morning of Dec 6, 1968 and which graces the January portion of the Colorado Narrow Gauge calendar.
The caption states this is the last run over the line. I don't doubt that, and clearly 473's received attention in Alamosa and is making her very last run to Durango for Silverton duties. My question is simply born of the fact that I can't remember when the last regular service ROUND trip occurred. Hadn't it been just days prior?? More, seems to me that was a doubleheaded trip, wasn't it?
Thanks for anyone's time in answering and helping me be lazy and not just go home to look this stuff up myself!! I appreciate your help very much.
