Getting to Vance Junction Coal pockets

We will be visiting CO in the fall and would like to visit the Vance Junction Coal pockets. We will be driving a 4wd pickup.

A few questions on what the best way to get there.

1) Is 625 RD the old RGS grade?

2) Are the coal pockets along that road?

3) Is the road an easy drive for a 4wd pickup?

Any other suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated.
