The projectors at the Sheridan used bulbs, not carbon arc - and IIRC were pretty standard for the time (early 70's). The $1,600 film rental cost could be (at least partially) recovered by tickets - 80 people at $20 or 100 at $16, but there's still the cost of renting two projectors. The real problem would be finding a venue in Chama where this could be done. Does the school have a suitable auditorium? Is it available for groups to use? I presume the 40th Anniversary of the RR will be a big deal for Chama, so maybe the town or Chamber of Commerce would back something like this.
We still have ten months to put things together, but I may have to move to Chama for the whole summer next year.
That would be TERRIBLE ...
