Reading the article one thing caught my eye. The widow said the owner had sent it to Michigan for "inspection and repair". I have no idea who allegedly did that work, BUT IMHO they have a LOT of 'splainin to do.
Now, does his outsourcing of repairs lessen the owner's ultimate responsibility to ensure the thing was safe? Nope, but it does raise some interesting questions. Like WHO made the decision for the half-azzed repair work, and was the owner even told it still needed heavy repairs?
