While I was in the Army, stationed at Fort Richardson Alaska,(Jul 56 to Jul 58) I was acquainted with John Hoyt who was the son of the then superintendent. Another one of the guys in my outfit was a draftee and came from the WP&Y where he was a fireman.(Can't remember his name) And now to the point, they both said the 69 was a poor steamer and a pain in the tail-end to fire. They were both extremely happy that the "damned thing went somewhere else". It will be interesting to see how the 69 does if it gets back to the WP&Y.
