I heard some news yesterday that the WP&Y has agreed to trade for the #69.
Starting in April, there was quite a discussion about the Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer's plan for their narrow gauge equipment. Just use the search feature here and look for "Stuhr".
From what I understand, they acquired the F&CC and C&S cars along with a couple of dozen others in 1975 from the Nebraska Midlands RR in North Platte. I don't know when they were first built, but the F&CC coach must date from the 1890's.
This previous thead interested me so much that when I had to make a trip to Nebraska over the Labor Day weekend, I stayed overnight in Grand Island and toured the museum. I especially wanted to see the F&CC #65 and due to the graciousness of one employee, was allowed to take pictues of its interior. I think that there are only a handfull of F&CC passenger cars left. The Friends own the very dillapidated combine #60 that is now in Antonito.
Here are three of the pictures that I took of the #65. Note the (I assume) original woodwork in the coach.
To learn more, go the the link at the bottom. And be sure and read more about the museum at their site. I was very impresed with the other things that they have.
