What exactly caused his camera to be destroyed? I could walk around the train before I do that, to check, whether any air hose looks to dangerous for the camera.

I would only place my HG20 there, not my 5d Mk II :-), so a many-thousand dollar loss would not be possible, still I'd like to keep my cam undamaged.

A good multi-coated mirror could be really expensive, otherwise it's a good idea.
