Have to agree with Rio Grande Ray. The day I rode last year we didn't make it to La Veta due to derailing shortly after Fir. The staff really were great keeping us informed on what was happening & offering snacks & drinks during the several hour delay. Won't have time this year, but will definitely be back to ride to La Veta & hopefully to just outside of Creede.
