Never heard that the tender of the #1 ended up being recycled into a dam. What other bits of trivia do you guys have?
By the way, for those of you who may be interested, 4-4-0 #1 first went to the Eureka & Palisades as #8 and then went to the Sumpter Valley in a trade of sorts.
Taylor, none of the C&C/SPng cars came from the U&N no matter what they look like to you. The original wooden freight cars were built by the V&T. Then the SP brought over SPC cars during the Tonopah boom; some of these were Carter Bros. built and others by SP. Then the SP built flats and gons in the 1918 era. After the N-C-O was standard gauged a number of its cars were transfered to the opration out of Mina.
