NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate Release - May 8, 2009

Georgetown, Colo.—Historic Rail Adventures, LLC of Georgetown, Colo. is pleased to announce that it has assumed the management agreement from RailStar Corporation of Cape Vincent, NY to operate and administer the Georgetown Loop Historic Mining & Railroad Park®. Historic Rail Adventures has assumed the remaining six years of RailStar Corporation’s 10-year management agreement with the State of Colorado, which also includes a 10-year renewal option to Historic Rail Adventures, LLC.

“Historic Rail Adventures has already attracted some of the best and most experienced mechanical and train staff currently available in the industry,” said Mark Graybill, President of Historic Rail Adventures, LLC. “We look forward to focusing on the railroad’s steam locomotive program and our first season.”

The Georgetown Loop’s 2009 train operation will begin on Saturday, May 23, with a newly expanded schedule of train rides through December, as weather permits. The expanded schedule will feature a wide variety of special event runs, including the Canyon Wind Wine Tasting Train, the Moonlight in the Mountain’s Dinner Train, the 4TH of July Firework’s Train, a Pumpkin Festival Train and the Santa’s Polar Adventure Train. Interested parties may visit www.georgetownlooprr.com or phone 1-888-456-6777 for more information on these special trains, or to purchase general tickets for the upcoming season.

“We gratefully acknowledge the incredible efforts that our predecessors and the Colorado Historical Society have contributed to the Park over the past 35 years, and we are privileged to participate in one of Colorado’s most treasured railroads,” Graybill said.

The Georgetown Loop Historic Mining and Railroad Park® is a partnership of History Colorado and Historic Rail Adventures, LLC. History Colorado is the museums, sites, and public programs of the Colorado Historical Society.

My 2 cents ...

I have known Mark Graybill for over 30 years. He is from Colorado and has an excellent business sense. He was the general manager for Caboose Hobbies for several years before starting a store in Georgetown, "End of the Line". Admittedly, I have been one of the strongest complainers of a firm from New York taking over the operation that was put together by Lindsey, Dave, Seabees and countless others. I worked for Georgetown Loop, Inc. for nine years and felt great injustice in 2004. With Mark Graybill taking the reins, many old friends from the previous operator are returning to help. With all the bad news in the press this year, I welcome this change of guard at the Georgetown Loop and hope others share this sentiment and have well wishes for the next generation.
