Nearing the end

Rio Grande Mudhen 464 pulls the last Rio Grande Southern Train across Lightner Creek Trestle west of Durango in 1951. This painting at the beginning of the tunnel to the tracks at Denver Union was based on a photograph.
The engine now steams on the Huckleberry Railroad, the caboose traverses the loop at the Colorado Railroad Museum.
