Re: N NG-the continuing (mis)adventures of CML#3..

Hi Earl,
I'm a long time lurker, motivated to finally register here so I can ask further questions about CML#3 and the Copper Spike Train Excursion.

On Saturday March 28th, I brought my Fatherinlaw up to Globe, and we really enjoyed the train trip. Seemed to be a good number of riders, and think I was the only one dissapointed to find the steam engine was missing. From your posts, I knew to look for her at the Bixby Rd. shops, and managed to get a few pictures to salvage the road trip.

Questions:
from your posts, you described how CML#3 crawled up the hill, and used 2/3 of her tank of water to get to the casino on March 23rd. How'd she do when back in service after April 9th ? Did you get a routine going until the left main rod bottom end broke ? I hope you tool around with her in Alamosa after fixing her up this summer, but understand you're going to be real busy with the growing stable up there. Do you think CML#3 will be back in Globe for next season's Copper Spike ? We'll take a day during Spring Break / Spring Training '10 to ride behind what ever steam you're driving.

Thanks for all your efforts getting CML#3 going and posting the pics and descriptions. It's a terrific story !

Best regards,

Joe Jastrzebski, Bartlett, IL
