" My question is how and where did #115 get in front of the Rotary into Chama"
Well, it seems there is a slight error here. Not sure which way to go here. One of the arrival times for either the OM or No. 115 is wrong. The times I posted are what is recorded.
This will tie in with your other question.
The OM went on duty at 1:45 AM. The conductor states they were on duty 17 hours and 50 minutes. This is 1 hour and 50 minutes over the 16 hour law.
Usually, when a crew is over the 16 hour law arrival time and tie up time are the same. In this case both arrival and tie up time is shown as 7:50 PM. However, 17 hours and 50 minutes would make arrival time at Chama 7:35 PM.
The time No. 115 left Osier is not shown so cannot reconcile the 3 hours 10 minutes to Chama that conductor reported. The engineer on No. 115 tied up Chama 7:55 PM which would coincide with 7:45 PM arrival.
In any event No. 115 did not arrive ahead of OM
Let's go with the thought that OM arrived 7:35 PM and tied up 7:35 PM. Perhaps when the times were put in writing the 17 hours 50 minutes thought was in mind and after writing "7" wrote 50 instead of 35 ???
