That's very sad, but...
I look at those pictures and I see parts for a new engine to be built!
If the cylinders, wheel centers and wheel weights are still good someone would be money ahead in building a replica. The Smokebox Sway rods look good. Lead Truck is probably good. The journal boxes are probably good too, thoe if broken some roller bearing ones can be made, and a new frame made to fit around them.
The valve motion castings probably survived even if the steel bars did not.
Good parts at scrap prices!
