I can only say to your words: Amen
We should have historical accuracy. We should be thankful the equipment still operates. We need to be able to disagree civilly. Courtesy, politeness and respect should be our watch words. If we can't hold it back (as happened to me at an eastern museum) then we need to walk away, go into the cooler, and keep our mouths shut for awhile.
