Re: Some shots and thoughts from Railfest 08

For the last several years we (Galloping Goose #5) have run 2, 2-hour trips on Saturday, morning and afternoon, to Elk Park and return to Silverton. Until this year there has been no problem on the afternoon run because the traffic in front of us had cleared. (As in years past on Saturday afternoon, we were the last “train” out of Silverton.) This year the #315 was thrown into the mix which helped to stack everything up – at least at Elk Park. I’m not complaining though because I’ve seen first-hand the beauty of an “Extra 315” run-by. (We ran 2 joint photo specials with the #315 on the C&TS over the 4th of July weekend where we hauled the photographers – or most of them. It was great! I hope that next year we can do something similar at Railfest.)
