I was also one of the passengers on the Saturday photo special, and have to agree with the sentiments echoed by others. No need to rehash most of it - I think the key points have been hit.

Railfest was just dang expensive this year - and not from the D&S end of things. To their credit, they've held their prices to very reasonable increases. It's mostly that hotel prices have gone insane in the last year. Anybody have any recommendations on the non-chain hotels as to what's good and what's not? Next year I don't think the big chains are getting my business - they just cost too dang much.

Hopefully next year, those at the D&S in charge of scheduling Railfest will take some of our frustrations into account and run the photo special on a different day from the motorcars and other specials. A quick review of photo line etiquette as a reminder for everyone at the beginning of the trip wouldn't hurt, either.
