I focused in on the depot area in that last post. This pic shows the crossing of the Grande at Cement and 12th. Wouldn't that be something to have a crossing like that today in Silverton!
What surprised me in the original post is that structure south of the Grande main on the overlay. It appears to be a SN engine house according to the text on the map. Did the original SN house burn down? I guess that I need to go back and refresh my memory of some of the history.
(Clarification on crossing)
As Jimmy Blouch pointed out to me, the track down 12th street wasn't added until 1955. So a crossing never existed at Cement and 12th Sreet. You have to be careful and read the notes on the valuation maps. What looked like a crossing on the map really wasn't if you take the time context into consideration.
