Well gentlemen,
Given that any of "us" running over 20MPH without a speedometer would be in violation of Federal Regulations, I can't say I would want to be anywhere near a K-27,28,36,37 doing much over 25MPH. I can't fathom what would happen at speeds in excess of 30MPH. The term "good track" makes me smile. I'm not sure any of the NG railroads in the country could produce track capable of handling speeds in excess of 25MPH(safely). I get nervous at 20 sometimes in the K-36's. To think that the gentlemen running these fine machines in the old days would routinely reach these speeds makes me shudder. I guess it would be a case of open the throttle, buckle the seat belt, and hang on!!
