Based on the photos of the inside of the doghouse and photos of 453, It looks like he would have faced the rear. However I did notice, 453's doghouse seems to have the door open to the engineers side of the engine. Other doghouses on the bigger locomotives seem to have opened to the rear... Am I correct?
