In addition to what John Bush brings up, I cringe when I see people running along the track as I remember what I was told when I started working on the railroad many years ago-- and that was never run down the track and never walk on the rail. Step over the rail. There can be slippery materials on it and when you slip, you are likely to hit your head on the other rail. I see people running down the track and I think of tripping on the ties and again you could hit your head on the rail... and those rails are rather unforgiving. Like John feared, I am probably coming across like a "scolding parent". I feel I am lecturing my son here. I guess I am getting old.
