Dave:
Was not aware of the problems with the mapping software. You work with what you have and chomp at the limitations.
The Floresta branch was one amazing piece of railroading. The bridge work up by the mine rivals the trestles at Ophir. They are built into the side of the mountain and were held in place with huge timber logs. Parts of the trestles were still there in 1975 when we hiked into the mine. It was a bear of a hike as one large trestle near Kebler Pass is gone and you have to climb down a really steep embankment and cross a stream and then hike up the other side. We didn't know it then, but there was a jeep trail into the mine site from Ohio Pass, but then you would miss most of the ROW.
Will provide the history of this branch in my Crested Butte book.
