I myself have used viewscan over the years and what I like about it is it can give you several passes of a slide to bring out more detail, in a dark slide/photo. Scaning slides, as everone has said, is a huge time drain and after 1500-2000 slides one can get burned out ... it all boiles down to money vs. time issue, but the central issue I have with sending out slides/neg. when they get lost ... there lost !!, and you can't replace them
