>One runby near Antonito the guy even drove his 4wd to the photo line and joined in. I will be riding on the 7th.
Yup, guilty as charged if you're talking about the big yeller Suburban on the 16th, that would be Nathan Z., Daren G., and myself. You guys were supposed to do the run-by at Lava (at least that's what we heard on the radio), and we wanted the trestle shot. The car was well out of the shot before you guys were even unloaded off the train, and we were as good as any other participant in the photo line - quiet, out of the way, gave the paying customers any spot they wanted and worked around them, etc. 'Twas not our fault that we happened to think it was a good run-by spot, too, without knowing that the crew's plans for you all had changed.
So, I'll see your term "freeloader" and raise you a combined four tickets on the next two runs (at $295 a pop) out of the three of us, and more than likely a healthy additional donation to the DRHS from at least a couple of us once it's all done. My point is that few of us can ride them all, both financially and schedule-wise, but particularly on these trips, many of your "freeloaders" have tickets on other runs and are otherwise financial supporters of the railroad and the DRHS.
