OK< but only if you have contributed! Just kidding, but the last two 315 trips I have ridden had severl hills dotted with free loaders. One runby near Antonito the guy even drove his 4wd to the photo line and joined in. I will be riding on the 7th.
My (somewhat educated (???) guess) estimate based on past trips is as follows: 315 WB trip departs Antonito before the passenger run to allow for runpasts. Assuming no breakdowns, the idea is likely to let the scheduled train pass before Osier (Toltec siding a likely spot) and follow with a few more run pasts. That gets the train to Osier when the other passeners are fininshing lunch, and we then get a chance to grab grub, and let the crew rest (remember, those guys work hard during the run a need a break as well).
I figure we will follow the WB tourist train out of Osier doing some runpasts, getting to Chama say 5:30 - 6 ish. Crew probably goes on duty around 6:60 am at Antontio, so they go dead by 6:30 PM.
IF,for some reason, 315 departs WB ourt of Osier ahead of the tourist train, it could be passed at Los Pinos siding (I think this is still servicable) or, of course, the summit. Most likey it will follow the regular train out of Osier.
Best guess? 315 will follow the tourist train after Osier, but will have plenty of run pasts so it will fall further behind.
