IMHO, the geese are more fun to watch than to ride. I rode #5 in Durango three years ago, and am very glad to have had the experience. But riding in the freight box - especially with the plexiglass windows closed - is not all that great. Only about 1/3 of the passengers can ride up front at any one time, which is comparable to riding in a crowded junior-high schoolbus. Probably by now most of us "hard-core" fans have ridden once or twice, so I'm not too surprised that she doesn't sell big in Chama. Railfest in Durango is a different story, as there are several hundred fans there and a much bigger market for 'got to do it at least once' riders.

p.s. I'm enough of an RGS fan to have moved to Telluride in 1972-73. I can hardly wait to see #20 running again!
