Mark: Well said. One thing that would help 19 is to insure that all the motor covers are on the motors and secured. This should help keep the dirt and debris off the commutators. They are now in the process of getting the aux generators rebuild with the help of the Loop's spare gen keeping the unit running on one end only. My understanding is both units will be rebuilt at this time. Have mentioned to John West a while back that it would be good to put solide state voltage regulators on the unit. 15 has had them for years and they have been trouble free. There is a trick to installing them and I would be happy to assist. The advantages of having some diesels should be becoming more obvious to the most die hard steam fans. Use the diesels for MOW, train rescue, etc and save the steam for revenue passenger trains. That is why people come to ride the CATS(and the Loop). John
