You are right about the Oregon and Washington mills being able to saw long Doug Fir timbers. I believe Hull-Oaks can saw 85' timbers. Three years ago I was trying to buy 8"x18"x56' timbers and three mills responded that they had carriages long enough for that size, however they couldn't supply that size because they didn't have any trees big enough available. There aren't many "pumpkins" left in the forest to make big timbers.
