We used Norwegian red pine from Red Pine Log Homes, Inc. of Backus, MN. They were the only ones we found that could supply the right size and length for the timbers running the full length of the car. The original wood we removed from the car was pine. The decking would have originally been oak, but cost prohibited us from using oak for the decking so we used the red pine also for the decking.
