Another thing to think about, 483 has not run in over 20 years. and she went down with firebox problems if memory serves me correctly. So would the shops not only have to pretty much fix the same problems either way, but 483 would need an extensive amount of extra work.

My opinion, (doubtful that this rumor is true at all), the C&TS would be better off starting on 463 if 487 really has that bad of a problem.
