on the chehalis centralia railroad & musueum here in washington state, we heat the water to roughly 75 degrees F. and then use a pressure washer to bring up pressure to 125% working pressure per the FRA requirements. we fill the boiler off the city water main and that is about 100 lbs and then finish it off with the pressure washer.
