Everything I've seen indicates that the frame house was intended for "management," the log bunkhouse intended for "labor," and both were built at the same time.
Don, do you know approximately when the lady in question was born and lived at Cumbres? I wonder if the reference to "labor" living in one room of the foreman's house was before or after the bunk house was torn down.
