I recall that the abandonment report (published by CRRM--my copy is in storage) details the section gangs for the whole darned RR. It is a bit later than your 1920 date, but will give you the idea.
The section house prototype used along the C&TS is two boxes configured as a 'T' in plan. My sense was that in earlier times, two gangs lived in each house--one worked west and the other worked east. (I may be full of beans, but the two boxes are too close in size when you look at the plan). Recall too that buildings were simpler then: toilets were in privys, and each box was probably divided into a couple rooms initially--one to sleep in and one to live/ cook in. Note that Cumbres/ Osier and Sublette have all been added on to extensivly, Sublette is probably the most basic of the three.
And, how these gangs worked in tandem with the B&B and water service crews is yet another mystery that deserves cogitation by the august posters on this board!
