INteresting question I would like to hear about also. My assumption has always been that the work crews were not associated with any particular location but roamed around the line as needed from a base location such as Alamosa or Chama and were requsitioned by the individual section foremen as needed for specific rehab projects.There were special crews for bridge building and trestle work that muct have worked out of Alamosa. There was also a water crew I think that worked on the various tanks and associated creeks and other auxiliaries.
