I did a little looking around today on the internet, and came across a website I had not looked at before...a hiking website (turns out these photos were either taken or uploaded on February 1 of this year), and came across these photos. Amazing, you can find more modern photos about this railroad on a hiking website than a RR related one.
here's a modern comparison of the San Francisco River Bridge compared with the photo out of RR Of AZ Vol III (1983) Looks like some of the Mesquite Trees on the hill are the same trees in both shots.
And Here's a shot of the tunnel that is visible in Earl's Shot, same portal. I think that some of the cut has been filling in with sediment, because this seems that the portal seems too small to take a 36" gauge locomotive. That Tree seems to tall in relationship to the portal
