Wow...I am truly surprised that you can still see so much of the grade in that shot, along with the tunnel portal. I think next time I go to Tucson/Willcox i'll certainly need to stop by and take a look around Morenci, when we rafted the Frisco/Gila rivers we showed up late at night and camped right on the shore of the river...and never had a clue about the railroad there.

BTW Earl, do you know if any railroad operations are actually used in the pit anymore? I do know they were doing it into the 1980's up there.
