Over the long weekend, I was reading my old issues of the Iron Horse News of the Colorado Railroad Museum. The articles about the museum's 1880 engine are a bit unclear,
After getting it back from Wisconsin, it was found that the tender was not original and all the wood was rotted out. An 1880s iron water tank was located and some work at re-building the tender frame was done in the 1980s.
Where does the engine stand now? It has been a while since I have visited the museum. How does the 191/51 look now? Cosmetic repairs and restoration should be a lot easier now that the museum has an indoor shop to work in.
