Don: Kindof...but the reason I am being elusive on my answer is that I am already picking up enough back chanel stuff, and 'forwards' from others....and it makes me cautious. IT IS CRITICAL
that when we survey this site that we find it in exactly the way it has been for 120 years. I have 'hints' that at least half a dozen rr buffs are going to attempt to enter this site, this season. This has the potential to be a disaster for our research as it could destroy the record of the Saxonia past. Few rr buffs can resist the temptation to pick up an artifact when they find it. When they do, they may be removing a clue that could be a missing part of the historic puzzle we are trying to solve. When we finish our research this summer, I will be delighted to share all that we have done and have found...including maps. It is my hope that the USFS and Jefferson County will allow some kind of access to this area, if one can be found. Right now, anyone trying to access this area will be in violation of State, County and Federal law, unless you have a USFS/State Special Use Permit for Archaeology. I have one, and will spill it all for the benefit of ALL...but only if we can protect this site...THIS SEASON. I hope you and others will understand. I sincerly hope that anyone reading this post...hearing of others who might want to explore this site, this season, will be soundly condemmed and discouraged from doing so. We will share what we find..but we need the chance to do legitimate research first. Thanks.
