From the photograph I was assuming that the chimney was the object casting a long shadow at approximately 39N 24' 06", 105W 23' 37"
It looks like the railroad followed the North bank of the river, and I'd guess the sidings were in the gulch just East of the chimney. I would put the coordinates of the center of the gulch at about 39N 24' 06", 105W 23' 34"
Judging from your comments about the shadows however, you have me wondering about what is just around the river bend to the West of this spot, since that is where the shadows are obscuring the view. Doesn't look like much level ground there though.
