The 1939 Chevy is still running strong, Mark. The parking brake was rebuilt last summer, and a brake drum was replaced (it was thin and cracked),and some brake shoes I had lying around for years finally were mounted. Compression is good, but the back rocker arm has a stripped adjusting screw so I will need to replace that next summer. It is singing for its supper, and it hauled a lot of oak and aspen for ther woodstove this autumn. My well dries up in the winter, so will be putting the tank and hauling water till next spring. I wish I could afford a to build a garage for it, but that will have to wait.
I aquired the right rim(that holds the matching hubcap) but, alas, it had holes in it. I had the holes brazed up and hammered the rim back into shape )all old rims seem to be dented).
This old truck is my most prized posession. Thank you, Mark, for selling to to me. I have had countless housrs of driving pleasure from this great old vehicle. Do you still have the turquoise Chevy coupe?
