Military Trains on the Narrow Gauge

October 12, 2020 09:11PM
Hello from Australia (and lock-down in Melbourne)!

I wondered if there was any transfer movement of Tanks (particularly Shermans) on the Narrow Gauge during or immediately after WWII?

If so, does anybody have any images they could share? I'm particularly interested to know if the 6500 flats were ever used for this purpose and, if so, how the tanks were chocked and tied down.

I've found lots of images of tanks and other military equipment being moved on the standard gauge (including on flats of the DRGW) but nothing I can clearly identify as on the narrow gauge.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Regards,

dp
