Hello to those who followed this query,
I should have added at the start that my query was prompted by movement of military vehicles including tanks in Australia during WWII on our 3'6" State systems (Queensland and Western Australia in particular).
The Australian War Memorial archive contains images of several of these movements - these are of M3 Grant tanks arriving at Morowa, WA for the 1st Australian Armoured Division on February 13, 1943:
And on the standard gauge - an M3 Lee tank and Universal (Bren Gun) Carrier per wagon (date unknown):
Only 3 Sherman tanks came to Australia (for evaluation) during the war - hence my query as we have no images of them being transported by rail.
The Grants and Lees subsequently never saw action - M3 Stuarts and British Matilda tanks were decided upon as better suited for jungle warfare against the Japanese forces.
