I recently purchased two of the Bachmann On30 Baldwin 2-6-2 trench engines and was contemplating a small layout utilizing them in civilian use. These loco's are pretty cool...ranking right up there with the Maine Two-footers in my book.
I have a few questions:
1. How many former trench engines survived and were used in domestic operations?
2. Does anyone have a good source of former trench engine pics 2-6-2's or 4-6-0's in domestic operations?
3. Is the 2-6-2 trench engine at the Infantry Museum in Columbus GA the only survivor in the States? If not where are the others and is there pics available?
4. Any good reference materials available regarding these engines...other than NG to No Man's Land?
I have a copy of the "Narrow Gauge to No Man's Land" that would most likely answer these questions but, the book is in deep storage awaiting my my house rebuild from the hurricane.
Thanks in advance,
Jon
