Also - the book 'The Rainbow Route' has tons of images and maps that help situate the scene. Red Mountain Town was very unique in that the railroad pretty much occupied all of the land with it's wye to turn the trains around and the station built right over the creek. There are a few places from the highway where one can look up and spot the old grade (what's left of it) and still see ties sticking out of the hill side. The Chattanooga loop is still very much visible and one can easily locate where it crossed over the present day highway. And, don't forget about the turn table. It's still there, but what's left of it is slowly fading away.
