Re: returning stolen parts

Thank you Mr. Bush, and a thank you goes to the seller of the plate. This seems to be a perplexing mystery, but the picture of the rear of the plate with the BLW code seemed like something was ground off and restamped. Just my observation, probably not correct.

Regarding stolen locomotive parts, it is sad what people do for a profit. Many years ago a fellow out of Salt Lake came to Ogden claiming he wanted to help with the 223. He took all of the cab gauges, and I believe the builders plates also, to his home, telling us that he would refurbish them. Well, five years later they still hadn't been returned, when this fellow came back up and told us the 223's gauges were for sale and we could have them back for $4,000. He was told flat-out "NO" and we haven't seen him again. At least that's the story I was told.

Sooo... If you ever find something on E-Bay or anywhere else claiming to be from the 223, a C-16, or narrow gauge 2-8-0, please report it immediatly. We need them back.

I'd hate to find that this person is actually a member of this forum.
