Re: WW&F Track Laying Weekend

During the Track weekend over Columbus Day, the WW&F laid 400-something feet of track (bringing us up to and past the MP 7 milepost from Wiscasset) and ballasted (but not jacked/tamped) over a thousand feet of track, including the track just laid.

Due to the opportunity earlier this year to purchase our founder's house and property, there wasn't funds enough to buy any rail. We made do with existing rail on hand, which had come out of a chair factory and needed cropping and drilling to 28' lengths in order to be useful.

There's still more rail on hand from the chair factory, but what's left will be less than 28' in length.

For the spring we plan to jack and tamp this new track; we should be able to buy enough ballast to do this.
