There are several GREAT b&w photos of the Lava Loop area in 1967 & '68 taken by Ernie Robart, including some from the top of Lava Tank, in the book "Rio Grande Narrow Gauge - The Final Years, Alamosa to Chama", written by Joseph P. Hereford, Jr. and Ernie.

My copy has no info as to the publisher, ISBN number, etc., other than
"Copyright 2001
R/Robb Ltd.
Union City, Ca
All Rights Reserved"
stamped inside the front cover ...
