This little structure housed the Casey Jones next to the Jail museum in Silverton for many years and was built by the historical society based on plans Allen Nossaman drew up. When the new display building was planned for that site, and the D&S volunteered to take the Casey to Durango to get it back into operating condition, the society gave the structure to the railroad and they moved it to the present location. The problem with the design was that the Casey was too long to fit, so the pilot had to be removed each fall, the Casey pushed in (on rails) and the the reverse in the spring--a lot of effort.
