The first fund raiser did real well and the money was turned over to the railroad not the friends. I understand Mr. Wimer gave the railroad permission to use it on another engine or some kind of emergency. This upset me and a couple of others so another fund raiser was started a couple of years ago and all the money collected from the web site plus 50% of all money from my penny machines at both depots goes to a fund being held by the friends for the 483.
Items for sale to help the 483 are at
[

From the home page.
All profits collected from items sold via this site will be sent to the Friends Of The Cumbres & Toltec Railroad to be put in a separate fund for restoration of Engine #483.
So far it has been 100% of the monies collected not just the profit.
Russ was one of the driving forces behind this effort and he also put in many hours getting the photos ready. Many folks helped and I am still selling the save the 483 CD's in my store.
